KCS & Guru Answers: Best Practices for creating new cards

Hello, Our team loves the new Guru Answers feature, which is great! I’m always for making knowledge access easier. However, I’m concerned that this feature may negatively impact our KCS program in the long run. I am looking for best practices on how we can ensure that our agents are creating cards based on specific problems, instead of solely relying on the response of the AI.I know this is an enablement/training problem on our end. Therefore, I would love to hear how other organizations are tackling this problem. Example scenario: The answer to a customer question is found deep within a card that was not created to capture the resolution of that specific problem. Normally an agent would create a new card to capture the specific problem so we can start gathering data on how common that problem is. With the AI, I’ve seen a pattern where the agents will find the correct answer but do not split out the information or create new cards to ensure it is findable, reusable, and we can collect

Inline comments are live on published CardsRelease Note

Hi Community 👋 I’m back with an update that I hope will make some of your days: inline comments are now live on published Cards! We’ve seen feedback about this (with over 80 votes) shared in the Community so we’re happy to announce that now users are able to attach their comments to specific content within a Card. This feature works similarly to other apps your teams are likely using, so we hope it makes communication much easier.To leave an inline comment, highlight the text you’d like to comment on. A small pop-up menu will appear above the highlighted area. Click the pop-up to open a comment box to the right of the Card content and reveal other open comments on the Card. When leaving a comment, you can choose to tag another user or group to alert them to your comment, just like in the previous experience. Inline comments can be attached to text elements (lists, Card titles, headers, paragraphs, etc.) tables, and code blocks. With this move away from general Card comments, existing

Introducing Prompt Management for Assist: A new way to fully customize your Assist toolbarRELEASE NOTE

Hi Guru Community!I’ve got another exciting update for Assist that just launched today. Admins now have the ability to fully customize the Assist actions for authors across their Guru Workspace. With Assist prompt management, admins will be empowered to:Remove/turn off any existing default actions from the Assist menu Customize your menu to reflect only actions you want your team to be using. For example, don’t want anyone on your team writing in a witty tone? Simply disable that action for everyone, or specific groups of people. Add a new action for editing existing writing Give your team members actions that let them edit their knowledge more efficiently. For example, if you want all your authors to keep their knowledge content as concise as possible while sticking to your branded company tone, you could add an action to the menu called X company concise + tone adjustment with the following prompt: “Edit to be more concise, then adjust the tone to be friendly and professional.”

Hey team,I know this is probably quite niche, but is there a way to report off of the cards that have been used by the “Answers” feature?We’re looking to see what is the most impactful content, and we’re looking at “New” cards, cards that have been “Edited” - but does looking at “VIEWS” also include the Answer generation? As in “Guru viewed this to create the answers”Or is there a way to see “These are the top questions that were asked and these are the cards that have been used the most to CREATE answers”Or is this something for a feature request?Thanks!Ben

Card Reporting: Upcoming verification datesOpen

There is no reporting out of Guru on Verification Interval and Last Verified/Next Verify dates. We currently are manually tracking verification intervals and last verified dates. This is tedious for our leadership and Business Process specialist to be maintaining and reviewing. We would like more robust reporting on verification and reminders when a card is about to meet their verification interval. This largely impacts the time it takes for us to get new, fresh, verified content into Guru because there’s no “warning” before the content meets the verification interval.

Improve search within Card experience (Ctrl+F)Open

What is the problem: When we use the global search bar to search a keyword/s, then select a card from that list of results, then our only option to find the keywords within a card is the CTRL+F function. Because the card opened from the list of search results is an overlay of up to 49 other cards that also surfaced because they likely have the same keyword (and in the preview of the result), then using CTRL+F will identify every instance of the keyword not only in the selected card, but in the search results as well and then take you through each instance. Who does this affect: Anybody trying to find content in our longer cards, where they need to quickly find a specific keyword within. (Unfortunately, all of our cards can’t be bite-sized). How to ideally solve for the problem: Add a search within the card feature or reconsider the overlay.

The utilization of user export data greatly facilitates the management of our user list.It would be highly beneficial if we could incorporate the last login information into the report as well. This addition would enable us to identify inactive users and effectively organize our user list, ultimately enhancing our workspace management.

Multilingual Concerns with "Ask a Question" Beta Feature

Hi everyone,Thrilled that we're now beta-testing Guru's "Ask a Question" feature—a highly requested feature for our teams on the front lines! However, I've noticed an issue that's particularly relevant for us as a bilingual organization in Canada. When posing a question in French, the system returns an answer in English, even though the French text is available on the card. This poses a significant concern for us, and I suspect it could be an issue for other multi-language environments as well.Is anyone else experiencing this? Would love to hear your thoughts.Merci :-)

Which CMS should we go for?

Hello there, I hope this is the right place to ask such a question!We are looking for a easy to use low/no code cms which has website drag and drop feauture and can handle a user database with unlimited members and millions of traffic in the long run. It also needs to be fully customizable for developers so we can add anything we need going forward.We are in the process of finding agencies which can help us make our membership database. We just need to know which cms is a good choice. We have looked at the following: Worpress, Drupal, builder.io, webflow, strapi and directus. Is there something else out there or what do you guys recommend?I am not a coder nor do I know much about software, we are in the process of finding a fullstack developer to help us with this but I thought maybe this forum would give us a head start. "You need permission" message on Google files embedded on Guru card

Hi Guru folks!We have recently embedded two very important Google files into Guru cards so our users don’t have to have them bookmarked and can easily navigate them from the Guru card.Quite a lot of our users reported that when they open the Guru card, they are unable to see the embedded file, however, if they open the same file from the link from their bookmark, it works ok.Any ideas what might be the issue and how to fix it? We have approx 1200 users that need to have access to the file. Thanks!

Automated Announcement Acknowledgement

Hello! Our acknowledgment rate for announcements is not as high as I’d like to see so I am investigating alternative avenues for someone to acknowledge they’ve read announcements outside of the one option today. The reminder three days later is great but it’s not enough. So, I was poking into creating an automation in Zapier and would love to see a new acknowledge announcement event from a trigger. What I am thinking: New Guru announcement creates a channel message in Slack tagging applicable user groups that received announcement. Users view the card and reads the card content directly in slack message User leaves an emoji reaction to the message and that marks that they have clicked “I read it” thus acknowledging said announcement. This would further reinforce the slack and guru integration where many of my team receives and reads announcements (many of which don’t require opening the guru site or chrome extension) Has anyone figured out how to do this? If not, I would love to see

How to format so that text is copied to clipboard

On a guru card, from the example below, how can I have users be able to copy “these words” and only “these words” to the clipboard by simply clicking once on “these words”? No click dragging, then ctrl +C, No triple clicking either. Just click once and “these words” are copied to your clipboard.example: copy these words, not these words to your clipboard and be sure not to include the comma.

How do change the the default code tag language to something else?

Our company’s primary languages are C# and TypeScript. However, I write exclusively in C# and therefore the example code I add to my cards are also written exclusively in C# and not Plan Text.In other words, when I type “/Code” I want the language to default to “C#”. How can I change the default language from “Plan Text” to C# for my account only without affecting anyone else’s settings would be best but we would take changing it company wide if need be as well.
