Enabling Guru for two or more Slack workspaces

Has anyone tried enabling the Guru app for more than one Slack workspace? I successfully enabled it in one of our corporate workspaces, but I don’t see a way to enable a second workspace. I’m an admin for both Guru and Slack. Appreciate any suggestions - thanks y’all!Ash

Making cards invisible in the searchbar

Hey! I was wondering if you could make cards invisible in the searchbar but accessible for everyone (only when they need it)? We have small cards that are an element of a ‘head’ instruction. This mostly contains a table which doesn't fit between the instruction or is only necessary in certain situations. Now they show up in the searchbar. This is not convenient because the search bar gives more results than needed and we don't want our employees to mis the important steps where they need to start.  We've tried:Include the content in the same Card with the use of markups. This doesn't work because the nummering/bullits will not continue after a markup. Include the content with a table of content. This only makes it difficult for our employees to edit the content because it is not easy to edit for everyone.  Put a note in the ‘side’ instruction: ‘you only need this content when ..’ or ‘you've first followed these steps [link] before you start with this Card’. Guru is not fetching more details on analytics

Hello fellow Gurus,I am trying to get a deeper view of the Searches Producing Results and Searches Producing No Results but I’m getting the error message ‘Failed to fetch’. This is a feature that I have previously used and was working fine. What could be causing this?

How to make images bigger on page

Is there a way to size an image larger when I cut and paste it in? Some of my images have lots of type. It would be nice to make them bigger.

Tips for making the most of the Guru's updated navigation

Hi all! I wanted to share some tips/thoughts I had while recently making some light adjustments to a Collection I manage. While thinking about how to make the most of our updated navigation, I realized I was able to significantly cut down on the layers of hierarchy I had in this Collection, and consolidate several Board groups/Boards to create an experience that is much simpler to browse. I hope you find this inspiring! How are you thinking about making the most of the new nav?

Automating Cards in Slack

In slack, we have a channel that has been automated to create and send specific error messages if something goes down in our company. This is helpful in alerting us of any critical failure in our system so that we can deal with it in a timely manner. I wanted to know if it would be possible to have Guru cards do the same thing.Example: A Slack critical error pops up stating that one of our vendors has been brought offline which will deny access to our mobile app for our members, Right after this error is seen, a Guru card pops up in the same channel which states the vendors number, hours of operation, and specific dialogue to fix the issue.I hope this is a feature that can be added soon because I’m sure we would not be the only business who could use it. Thank you for your time.

Kustomer + Guru

Hey all! I’ve started a new role as Knowledge Manager at Electric and one of our primary areas of opportunity is getting our external Knowledge Base (hosted on Kustomer) into a synced Guru collection.Any chance that the Kustomer Knowledge Sync is on the roadmap to return and, if not, what resources would I need for the API setup?

Slack and App, Wiki, Invited to Channels

Hi All - I might be overlooking. Is there somewhere that has some articulation about the difference between the Slack app being a connected app to Guru company wide and an individual adding the Guru Wiki to their slack workspace? I’m trying to understand the difference in functionality.For example, what if all Guru users have access to the Slack app being connected, but don’t add the Guru Wiki? What functionality don’t they have access to?

No Mac Keyboard Shortcuts in Guru Cards

Does anyone else have this problem? I’m unable to use any keyboard shortcuts on my Mac when creating a card through the chrome extension. Command+V won’t paste, Command+U won’t undo text. Makes me want to write my content elsewhere then have to import it to Guru.

Template Collection

This feels like a very obvious question, so I apologize if I am overlooking an existing tool. But… is there a way as an Admin to view and manage card templates? I assumed they would be visible in Card Manager or Team Settings, but I don’t see them there. We may want to make bulk changes (like applying tags or reassigning them to a central person). The only way I have found to view templates is when you actually go to create a card (https://help.getguru.com/en/articles/4739966-creating-and-editing-a-template-card).  Thanks!

How do you guys handle data security/backup?

My team recently moved to Guru and is already starting to build quite a valuable store of knowledge in there. It got me thinking about what a major issue it would be if one day we were to suddenly lose access to all our content in Guru. To be fair, I think it’s highly unlikely that Guru would decide to close up shop without any warning or giving us a chance to export our content, but it’s still nice to know that there are regular backups in there. Currently, the only way I can think of is to regularly backup the data via the Content Export feature, probably something that we’ll do every 3 months or so. However, I’m wondering if anyone’s figured out a way to automate this so that a), we don’t have to manually do it, and b) not risk the person responsible forgetting to do it. I’ve checked the API, and the closest I can find is to use the search API without any query. This is decent I suppose, in that it’s give the text which is the most important part (for us at least), but it’ll be nice

Integrate Guru into Active Directory Groups/Roles and OKTA

Hi All,My name is Weyland and I’m new here to Guru.  Basically what I am trying to do is setup in our Active Directory domain with the proper group/roles so when we onboard someone, we place that person in that group and that person would have access to Guru.  That’s the 50K foot level explanation.  Coming down just a little bit, we are also restricting access to Guru with the use of OKTA.  Basically to access, you must logon to OKTA (which has ties to Active directory) and from there, Guru would be an application that a user can access.   I am aware that within Guru, there is a whole process to do to grant users to certain collections/cards etc. I guess that would be part two of the question.  If we segment out the access permissions within active directory, I’m guessing we would then fine tune in Guru.So as an example.  I create 3 groups in AD (Guru RO (read only), Guru CO (collections owner), and Guru Admin.  I place a user in one of these groups.  This AD group is then mapped to OK

SharePoint Integration - iFrame vs. Markdown

We use SharePoint as our file storage solution and have been building cards in Guru where we’d like embed our SharePoint files directly into the card.  The goal is to make it easier for the team to view the content directly in the card vs. clicking and linking to another document. Interestingly, when we tried to use the iFrame function in Guru to embed our content it did not work.  After reviewing this post (https://help.getguru.com/en/articles/4830978-embedding-assets-from-sharepoint-and-onedrive) we found that we needed to go through a slightly different sequence, using the mark down feature in cards.  When pulling the embedded file from SharePoint we were required to add dimensions (width and height).  This resulted in a fair amount of testing to find the ideal size for a portrait style word doc (btw, we settled on width: 850 x height: 1050) as our standard.  This isn’t the end of the world but it does make the process a bit messier than using an iFrame would.Furthermore, it creates

API - Join events and alerts information

Hey there!I am trying to combine information from knowledge alerts and the events (a.k.a analytics) endpoint, however, I am unsure how to do this. So far, my best attempt has been joining both information using the field card_id (both knowledge_alerts and events provide it) and filtering the events with type = ‘alert-read’. However, this is not ideal since a given card_id could be related to > 1 knowledge alert, so my question is… Is there any way to know which event is related to which knowledge_alert? It would be nice to have an `alert_id` field under the events endpoint.Thank you in advance!Iñigo

Having looked at the documentation on Guru permissions, I don’t think this setup is possible, but thought I’d ask to see if anyone has any recommendations.  We’d like to create a group which has access to edit and publish edits, but not verify.

No email notifications when clicking on "reply" button in comments

When we add a comment - we get our emails using @mentions.However, if we are viewing comments in a card and click on the reply button and send a reply - no email notifications are sent.This requires that we start a new comment which makes it difficult to follow the stream on a particular comment.How can we get emails when the “reply” button is used?Thanks for helpTwila
