Apologies in advance if I missed a feature update for this! Does Answers include the names of attachments and inserted media in the search parameters, or the alt text added for images?

Hey Abbey!

Alt-text and names of attachments are utilized in Answering questions. So if you had alt-text or an attachment title that read “Sharks are my favorite animal” and asked Answers “What is my favorite animal?” - Answers would return “Sharks.”

Out of curiosity, what type of questions are you asking about alt-text and attachment titles?

Hi @Noah Carpenter! Thank you so much for confirming.

With alt text we are trying to ensure that all visual elements are spelled out and searchable. The first part is for accessibility reasons (e.g. readability by screen readers), the second to simply help our team to have information at their fingertips.

With attachment titles we have a number of individuals creating placeholder content right now (title, maybe a sentence, and a file link or attachment) to be further fleshed out at a later date. The file name is pretty much the card “content” for those placeholders. Just wanted to make sure that Guru would include those in the Answers queries and that it wasn’t instead only looking for traditional textual elements.

Thanks again!
