Hi there,I’d like to advocate for surfacing folders in search results within Guru.What’s the problem?Users who are unfamiliar with the folder structure—especially in collections outside their immediate team—may not know certain folders (and their contents) exist. Hi Team - Having moved the favorites section out of the sidebar and having it under the library causes slow down each time I want to find what I need. I just have to go dig for things that I wanted favorited at my fingertips. The flow of finding pages is just much slower than it once was

Access more Community content from within GuruWon't Do

I posted about this in the Slack channel yesterday, but @Chris Anderson suggested posting it here, too. I definitely understand that Slack is not a sustainable option for the Community, but, for me (and it sounds like a lot of others, too), the new community here is much less accessible, and the fact that it lives in a web browser is really prohibitive to involvement.  I find that, even when I do leave the tab open, it just gets lost in all of the other tabs I have open for things that directly relate to my job, so I’m much less active and see much fewer posts here than I did in Slack. I really valued the Slack Community - I’m still fairly new to KM, and I loved hearing ideas from more veteran Knowledge Experts and sharing my own tips and tricks with newer folks, but now, that’s not something I can do easily. I’d love to see the Community become a desktop app (or even a mobile app) to make notifications more obvious and content more accessible. Or, maybe the community could be built di

Routing Ask an expert questions to certain Slack channelWon't Do

As we are trying to figure out the right way of working with Ask an expert, our KM team have been asked if it is possible to work around the groups in Guru but work with the slack integration.The solution proposed is routing the questions to particular Slack channels? E.g., if someone asks a question about a certain part of a product, they would have an option to send that question to the right channel as well. From the channel, the experts would also respond to the question. All this activity would be fed back to Guru.Is this possible to build within the framework of the Guru app in Slack?

Answered Questions removed from Inbox & moved to another sectionWon't Do

After answering a question by either creating a new card or using an existing card, it would be helpful if the question would then be removed from the main Inbox and moved perhaps to a different section such as a new “Answered” section under Questions. In the current workflow, once a question is asked, it goes to the Inbox where you can answer it. Once answered, it will indicate that it has been answered but will remain in the inbox.If I dismiss it, it will remove from my Inbox but then I can’t see it. I think if there was an in-between place, either Answered, or Archive, something like that to refer back to these answered questions, that would be helpful.

Improve search analytics in order to track how effective tags areWon't Do

I’d like to know if users are searching for content via the #tag filter. Is that possible? I’m asking as I’d like to know how effective tags are, as the maintenance can be time-consuming.

I have trouble distinguishing lower case "i" from uppercase "I" and lowercase "l" because of the Guru card fontComplete

It’s very frustrating to have lowercase “i” show up as very similar to uppercase “i” and lowercase “L”.  Is there a way to change the default font in Guru?  I asked it as a question here  I don’t need to be able to pick a specific font, I’d just like a font that distinguishes between lowercase “i” and uppercase “i” a little better (not to mention lowercase L).  Thanks for your consideration.

Link shortener for public CardsWon't Do

I've been tossing this idea around for the past month or so but I think it would be useful to build a custom link shortener for the app that brands the links. The reasons for are no different from the reasons people use Bit.ly or other link shortening services. • Branding • Shared links to Guru Cards can be extremely long. This would help to make them more readable and friendly • More aesthetically pleasing

Ability to make a folder publicWon't Do

I know the current solution for using one public Guru card as a “landing page” and then having a table of contents link out to other public cards. I think it would be more time saving and helpful to have the ability to make an entire folder public, so that if a set of Guru cards needs to be shared externally to a client they have what they need. The table of contents on a “landing page” guru card is a bit time consuming and it would be great to just assign a folder to be public.

Ask the Expert: warning or disable All Members optionWon't Do

Using the Ask an Expert functionality, we've had some questions come through where the asker asked the question to "all members" not realizing it would send everyone in the organization a notification. It would be great if guru could give a popup warning, something along the lines of, "Are you sure you want to notify all members? Click 'cancel' to instead choose a user or user group." Another idea is to allow us to remove the option to ask “All Members” a question altogether.

Update the Guru mobile appWon't Do

I am really enjoying Guru so far! My Problem and Feature Request is to be able to do everything the Web App can do - but on the Mobile App. The most requested functions in order:Ability to leave a comment on a Card and all comment capabilities (view, reply, resolve, dismiss etc.)  View/Acknowledge Knowledge Alerts View Collections & Boards Create a Card  Our team that uses this the most is often away from a computer and only has their mobile to rely on. Asking them to sit down at a computer at the end of the day and acknowledge their knowledge alerts is not a viable solution for us.  Needing them to take the extra few steps to navigate to the Web App on mobile - find the needed card - then comment is too many steps if they already have the card open in the app - resulting in a lack of feedback for our Authors.  While it’s technically possible for them to use the Web App on their phone - it’s a bit clunky as it doesn’t seem entirely designed for mobile view.  As fantastic as Guru is

Allow questions to be marked as "answered" without using a CardWon't Do

Sometimes it is not practical to answer an Ask an Expert question with a Guru card. In those cases it would be ideal to still be able to mark the question as answered.  I realize that a question can be dismissed at any time, but it may linger as “unanswered” in other Experts’ inboxes making it seem as if it has not been addressed.  Archiving is not a solution since that renders the card inaccessible to everyone including the asker.

Public cards are great however, if they could be aligned with the company brand as they are outward facing, that would be great. Would love to see options to adjust the style of public cards (fonts, logo, colour scheme etc).

Update the Android mobile appWon't Do

I was very excited that Guru had mobile apps and they’re part of the core workflow for my team so that people can reach information in the field or on business trips. Multiple members of the team have an error where the Android version is not updated for the latest version of Android - can this be updated? I’m frustrated that this wasn’t known before we migrated our data in.

Add an Analytics Role to permissionsComplete

Currently the only options to allow review of content analytics is to assign a Group or individual the Role of Author. This has two secondary effects:Authors have the ability to view analytics on content and draw conclusions about the content. Depending on whether the knowledge management methodology in practice focuses on activities rather than behaviors, access to action-level analytics can potentially bias the understanding of content value and / or activities within the knowledge ecosystem. Analysts working to understand and report on content have the potential to influence metrics such as viewed, copied, etc. Depending on whether users with analytics access are supposed to be contributing to the knowledge ecosystem and how careful they are when taking actions within the knowledge base (ex. reviewing content for quality / copying card links) this may or may not introduce bias to the analytics data.

Ability to add anchors in cards without markdownComplete

Hi,I sometimes want to make references to other chapter in my Guru documentation. Today, the current anchoring is a technical workaround and high in maintenance.It would be a great leap forward in efficiency, user experience and productivity if we can insert anchors via the @ key and choose between cards and a chapter from our new ToC.

User access to collections of a different team

Hi there!It is not clear from the documentation if a user can be part of another team’s groups. For example for this endpoint `https://api.getguru.com/api/v1/groups` (doc link) the description says:Returns all groups on the team.  Can I assume from this statement that a user can only get access to collections therefore they cannot be part of some group outside of its team?  There is also this change announced recently that allows an individual to be assigned access to a collection: As of June 30, 2025, Groups are optional. You can decide to instead assign individual users to objects. Thanks in advance!

Hi there!I'm working on a project that requires fetching the permissions of a user or user group for a collection of cards.I'm aware of the api/v1/groups/{groupId}/collections endpoint, but this only works for groups. However, according to this announcement:As of June 30, 2025, Groups are optional. Multi-Workspace Collection Access

Hey there!I'm working on a project that requires displaying the list of collections across multiple workspaces. From what I’ve read so far, each access token generated for the Guru API provides access to only a single workspace. Could you confirm if that’s still the case?In my case, I need to fetch all collections across multiple workspaces, but it seems that the /api/v1/collections endpoint does not support this capability. Do you have any suggestions or workarounds for handling this scenario?Thanks in advance!

Show clickable links to cards being referenced in AnalyticsOpen

Hi Team,  We are hoping to see the titles of cards in the Analytics panels be clickable links that take users directly to the card that’s being referenced. A phase two of this could make author names hyperlinks, too.  This would enable us to more quickly analyze our knowledge base and address trends in real-time.

We have guides that allow navigation between sections using anchor links (as per format here)This doesn’t however allow sharing of the anchor links as URLs which direct to a specific sectionWe need to share internally card sections which answer very specific questions, it doesn’t help to land users directly at the top of the card and require them to scroll to their answer

How do I provide a url to an anchored section?

I saw this article already.  But I can’t seem to get the anchor link to work in a url.  For example, if I wanted to give my colleague a url to a specific anchor, the url loads up fine, but it doesn’t anchor.Here is a more explicit example: If I put an anchor called “aboutDogs” in my guru card, when I click on the url (for example https://app.getguru.com/card/12345/animal#aboutDogs) - the url loads up fine -  but the browser doesn’t skip to the About Dogs section.How can I provide a url to an anchored section?

Make Collection Overviews More UsefulOpen

It would be nice if the collection overviews served as a homepage for the collection, surfacing the cards that are most useful/relevant, rather than showing the administrative info about the cards (trust, verification, etc.) For example, if we have a collection all about a certain product, it would be nice if the overview for that collection showed cards like messaging, FAQ, recent training sessions, product updates, etc. Maybe make them customizable? Or provide the ability to set a certain card or page as the collection overview.

Non-intrusive definitions within cardsOpen

Our company has plenty of internal terminology that we use in a lot of our Guru cards. We have glossaries, but it would be great if there was a way to build definitions of certain terms non-intrusively into cards so that agents don’t have to constantly pull up glossaries, and we don’t have to add bulk and repetition into cards by adding things like “(which refers to...),” “(an acronym for...)” into every card that contains a certain word/phrase/acronym/etc.I would envision this as either the ability to manually select a word or phrase in a card and tie a definition to it, or the ability to create an internal glossary within Guru and tell it to automatically add the definition any time the words/phrases you define are used within cards.Once a word/phrase has a definition tied to it, the definition would pop up when you hover over or click on that word/phrase. It could have a special type of underline or italics that would indicate to a user that something will happen if they hover/click
