We’re currently using Guru’s Slack Activity feature to notify our team when a new Card is created. It would be great if:

  • There could be a notification if an existing Card is changed
  • There’s a section to add a description of what was changed

So our teams get full information on updates in Guru

Hi @Abby Cho  👋 Thanks for sharing this feedback! I’m wondering, have you tried following Authors and following Cards? To your point, the Slack notification won’t show any details about what was updated in the Card, but this might be close to what you’re looking for if receiving an alert when a teammate publishes a new Card or updates a Card you follow.

Here’s an example from yesterday when an author I follow published a new Card about her upcoming out of office time:

I hope this helps you get a little closer to your goal here and let me know how it goes!

@Marie Frei That might be helpful, but the idea is that we’re trying to notify an entire Slack channel with an arbitrary number of members whenever a Card in a particular Collection is published or changed.

It seems like in order to utilize that feature you mention, I would either need to follow all the authors in the Collection (there are multiple) or follow all Cards. I would prefer not to do this, as there’s a large volume of Cards in the particular Collection.

Further, would it be possible to share these notifications to the channel and not just myself? It seems as if these notifications would only go to me.

For context, we’re using the feature described here: https://help.getguru.com/en/articles/4739884-setting-up-guru-activity-feeds-in-slack

Ahhh okay, I see what you mean! Maybe using Zapier to connect Guru to Slack is a potential workaround? Our Support team does this - they created a zap with the “Card Created” Guru trigger so that each time a new Card was created in a specific Collection, a Slack channel would receive an automated message containing the title of the Card and a link to the Card. I’ve personally not tried the “Card Updated” trigger, but it seems like it could potentially help with tracking Card changes.
