My team uses the Slack integration with a basic #ask-guru channel that connects to our default knowledge agent. Any question asked in that channel is automatically attempted to be answered using that agent.

Sometimes, it can’t answer automatically, and/or the answer is off, so I will go into the Agent center and update answers. It would be awesome if that updated answer could feed back into the original Slack thread!

Reason:

  • When someone asks in the Slack channel but doesn’t get an answer, other people who see that message are now getting the impression that it can’t be answered in Guru (even if it can be updated with an answer a few minutes later) -- which works against the goal of higher Guru adoption.
  • Even if the answer is later updated, only the asker has visibility into that fact. It would be amazing if everyone who was watching that thread or participating in the channel could see the full evolution from question → no answer → something like “@<Asker>, <User> answered your question! <Insert answer>” . Similar to what the individual asker would see if they had Slack notifications turned on, but in the shared thread, rather than directly to the asker.
  • This would improve visibility and efficacy of using the training center with the Slack integration!
