I tried to create a link to an M365 Office app file on SharePoint recently. I want the file to open in the desktop app and not he browser, as is the default behaviour of Microsoft. To facilitate this, one must use the Office URI Schemes | Microsoft Learn for the corresponding app. This results in a link URI like this:

ms-powerpoint:ofe|u|https://tenant.sharepoint.com/site/library/folder/file.pptx

But when specifying this as the URL for a link in a Guru card, the editor automatically prefixes the link with “http://” and this breaks the link.

Given that this is a Microsoft standard and SharePoint is commonplace in the enterprise environment, please could I make a request fro you to implement the Office URI Schemes, at minimum the “big 3”:

ms-powerpoint:

ms-excel:

ms-word:
