+1 to all of this!
Hitting the escape key causes the card to close, even when other dialogs are open or you're interacting with another element on the page. This is not just on the edit card page. There's no quick way to get back to the card or where you were working, because the URL gets replaced and browser back navigation doesn’t work. This usually means re-running a search for the card, finding it in the results, reopening it, and scrolling to the section I was working on.
This happens to me every single day.
Some specific examples:
I’m in a card, highlight some text, and open the "comment" dialog. If I hit escape to close the comment, it closes the entire card instead- with no way to return to where I was working.
Same thing when editing a card. I’ll hit escape to close a dropdown or another element I’m interacting with, and suddenly I’m kicked all the way out, back to my homepage. What’s especially confusing is that in "edit" mode, the card goes full screen, so it doesn’t even feel like a modal - there’s no signal that escape would boot me out entirely.
Honestly, one of the most frustrating UX behaviors I’ve run into in my career. Please make the escape key behave more logically.
