Restrict Card Verifiers to Specific People or Groups

Related products: Card Creation

Currently card creators are automatically considered the Verifier of the card. However, we’d like the ability to restrict who the verifier can be upon card creation and/or set a default verifier for a Collection. So if X card is on X board/board group, or in X collection, then Verifier must = X person or X guru group before the card can be published.

This would be super helpful for how we interact with Guru as a team. Currently, we have many groups of people that are considered “Card Champions”. Each champion group consists of 3-5 people who own knowledge/content vetting and accuracy over time for specific categories of content.

Their main purposes is to alleviate the pain point of card creators not owning the archiving or updating and reverifying of content over time. It also ensures that card creators are only adding accurate knowledge to our Guru knowledge base.

However, the problem we’re facing is that these card champion groups aren’t accurately alerted when cards go unverified or get added because card creators forget to switch the card verifier to the card champion group as opposed to themselves.

If we could prevent cards from being published if the verifier is not a specific verifier, then we could ensure that Champion Groups are always alerted to take action on Guru cards.

Because there’s no verifier validation currently, this error occurs very frequently (3-5 times a day).

I believe the only way to solve this is through custom code using webhooks and conditional logic to replace the verifier of a specific card after a card is created with the incorrect card verifier is set.

However, I’m hesitant to dive into custom coding a workaround with your API if verifier validation could be created natively within a short timeframe.

Alternatively, having the ability to update a card verifier within a Zapier action could also be an efficient workaround.
