We have 30+ sections on a single board with 11 cards each and it is making it very difficult to find what we need quickly. The reason it is so difficult is because the cards are not collapsed by default and we have to scroll and still have trouble finding the section and cards needed.
Also the search feature is only for cards instead of sections which makes it even more challenging to find exactly the info we need.

Love Guru! Do not love having to minimize a million sections to get to the relevant one, this would be one of my single largest wish list features.
What makes this unfortunate is that it deters us from using the product and adding more content, as doing so will just make the problem worse. :(
I’m in the same boat.
We have a lot of sections on boards and we need a way to have them all collapsed by default and then open what we need instead of seeing EVERYTHING.

It looks like this is now complete with the improvements released for the web app’s Collection hierarchy last year. Sections (now called “folders”) are collapsed. There’s also a function to search within a specific folder for a Card.
There is still some feedback around improving folders and search that is open, so I’ll drop what look like related posts if you want to support them with upvotes:
