Hey all

New to Guru. We are looking for an all in one solution to provide our small company with an intranet of sorts to aid productivity and share updates AS WELL AS a way to onboard new team members and provide training and guidance.

I have really enjoyed exploring Guru so far. I have requested a sales call, but no answer as of yet to book that in.

One issue we have is we really do need to test the knowledge and understanding of our team members particularly when it comes to safety critical operating procedures. Whilst we are able to organise and document these elegantly through different libraries and cards, Guru is definitely lacking that “quiz” function to be able to get a confirmation of that team member’s understanding that we can track and record.

One work-around I have seen is to make the group that needs to stay current with that operating procedure the expert for that card, and set the verification frequency to how often we need them to refresh their understanding. The issue here is that it only requires one individual within that group to verify the card. Once the first person has, this task disappears from the others’ task lists.

There has to be a way, and I am simply not prepared to commit to the costs of Guru if I then have to layer on the cost of an LMS platform to deliver the training and quizzes.

I would be grateful if someone could advise. Perhaps someone has figured out a way around this but I am yet to see that from the other forum tickets that have brought this issue up.

The company could do worse than look at platforms like get usewhale.io who have the quizzes and tracking.

Hopefully someone can help or otherwise we will need to regretfully explore a different platform for our needs.

Many thanks.

Duncan

Thanks @David MacVicar. Unfortunately not as this suggests leveraging a third-party LMS provider to publish courses which could have Guru cards embedded in it. I am looking for a more unified approach, not least because the costs of Guru and added costs of an LMS would make this prohibitively expensive.

Hopefully there is a workaround.

Hi Duncan!

Apologies that your first outreach hadn’t connected you with our team as expected. Would you be able to shoot us a message through this form? This will allow us to gather some additional info about your team so we can connect you with the right people and resources.

We’ll look forward to chatting with you there! In the meantime, the public Card that @David MacVicar has shared is a great resource. (Thanks for sharing, David!)

@RebaMitchell Thank you I have just submitted the form again. In relation to the suggestion from @David MacVicar I have commented above that this won’t work for us unfortunately.
