The problem: We have multiple slack channels and departments that are constantly making changes to product and systems.  Often these conversations are with a select group of people not realizing that many other departments could be impacted by these updates.  If you are not in ‘the slack’ channel and do not get tagged, you may miss something very valuable to prep your team or create resources/communications regarding this upcoming change.

The Question: Is there a central submission area for the entire organization to submit a ticket for the department's upcoming changes? Could these could be deposited to a central location, where teams can look at a glance in case they need to put measures/training in place for these upcoming departmental changes? Could these be pushed or tagged if you absolutely know a certain needs to be aware of this? But, again, the most important is that this lives on one central repository for all teams and departments to regularly reference.

Hi Jackie! It was great to see you in our workshop earlier today! Thanks for breaking down your post here so thoughtfully, as well.

It sounds like you’re describing a good use case for Pages, where you could use a Page as a bulletin board (so to speak) to highlight knowledge and updates around a specific project, in this case. You could set the permission to All Members to ensure open visibility for all. We don’t currently feature automation to push content to a Page from Slack (that is an interesting idea!). Though, an Admin could invite others as Page Editors to ensure those SMEs have a place to share details and updates as they emerge.

You might even get creative with Zapier, potentially creating a specific Slackmoji and a zap along the lines of if a team custom emoji is used » notify person responsible for Guru updates], or add it to a spreadsheet to be regularly reviewed by the person who edits the Page.

Thank you, I was wondering how Zapier could be involved.  I currently use a Guru idea emoji to mark that I have seen it in a slack channel. Then add it as an Asana task. Once the guru card is created or updated, I return to that slack and change the emoji to a complete Guru emoji.  A zap may be a more automated solution!
