my comment on reflecting..

  • Guru beta answer has picked up some data from the doc body but
  • running a Guru-find missed content from 40 Guru cards
    • this is a reversal of my earlier experience where
      • Beta Answer was biased to Guru Cards and missed Google Drive Sync data. Thanks.

Two things

  1. Here is a visual bug from the Worksapces ‘New’ badge in the background
    1. I would need to add whole shared Drives. Can only add folders, but that doesn’t work. I would need to add tons of folders.

  • sync is restricted to a single folder 
  • because Google Workspaces mandates this within a workspace shared folder

Thanks for the feedback gang! The Google Drive sync for Answers is still in V1, we’re currently working on an improved permission structure that will be much more intuitive and essentially effortless to set up. I’ll follow up here one released as I’ll be keen to hear your thoughts!

  • Google Drive Sync is a mamoth to work on and I appreciate Guru Team’s investment
    • Google workspace permissions are strict
      • an email this evening 26 Jul 2023 to admins from Google on WorkspaceTerms emphasised new security focus
    • I’m exploring subfolders in the main synced Guru Google Drive Workspace folder
      • an hour’s trial gave just 1 hit in the subfolder but many more misses of exact data terms so the focus/match is quite wooly
      • getting the linked Guru-Google Drive Workspace folder structure optimum matters greatly
        • this needs experimentation in tandem with Guru’s search algos &c.
        • it’s exciting but early versions for now

  • the ai answer-summary was neutral but acceptable

  • after a 7 hour data-input to Google Sync Folder and Guru ask a question lag
    • data identification is spot-on this morning
    • although the result returned no direct answer
      • the sources are well justified and useful
    • I’ve given myself the green light 🟢to 
      • construct subfolder architecture in my shared Guru-Google Drive sync folder
        • populate the architecture with data
        • take advantage of Workspaces Google Suite Smart doc potential
        • review my progress with this plan

  • good few hours invested to fine-tune sync-folder structure
    • nice results
    • parallel test Beta Guru and Google Cloud Search - very credible
  • tested Evernote search to compare with Beta Guru
    • for test topic 19:10 bias lexical vs semantic
      • NLP not so hot but this is not unusual in big data apps
  • I think this beta search question result has good balance for lexical semantic NLP
    • prison diaries here are Ho Chi Minh Vietnam opus in my translation
