It would be helpful if Tasks > To Read > Mentions were auto-resolved when a comment is resolved. Currently I have to take two actions for every comment. I have to action on the comment itself and also action on the mention task.

Yes the mentions section/menu is unhelpful if you are working as a team/group to resolve comments. It doesn’t tell me if a partner resolved a comment, everyone that gets that notification has to manually dismiss it from their inbox.
We get a lot of comments and need this to be more functional across teams - right now we are using an additional sheet to track this work
