Image links/files on deleted cards?

Hi all - we are trying to prepare to have a process in place if pii data needs to be deleted (if anybody has any best practices, we’d love to hear). But our bigger question is that when we delete cards, we see that the image file link still exists. Can we get some clarity on when cards are deleted and what happens to files/images/etc that are associated with the card?

How to prevent users from editing cards?

It seems that all users can edit cards - how can we stop this from happening?I can’t work out how to change users’ access levels to prevent them from being able to edit cards.

What are best practices for using Guru for internal comms?

Hi all - We’ve been using Guru as our KMS, but we will be sunsetting our current internal comms system (open source that has been integrated with Slack) and using Guru for that in the future. Teams update the company on major initiatives and status check-ins, but sometimes the knowledge doesn’t move out of the announcement itself (in effect, sometimes the internal comms system was treated as a knowledge base separate from the one we were using). We are thinking about using Guru announcements to share newsletters and team updates in cards.  I’m hoping fellow Guru users might provide some insight into how they are utilizing Guru for internal comms:Do most people create a separate internal comms collection and how is that structured? Or are team collections housing those updates? When teams are providing updates, how are internal comms staff encouraging their teams to make sure that any stable knowledge is added into the announcing team’s collection where the other relevant knowledge alre

Resources for formalizing KCS practices with Guru

Hi everyone!We've recently rolled out Guru for our support team, and have used elements of KCS methodology in developing many of our processes. I'm now looking to take the next steps.Does anyone have experience following a KCS curriculum path/certification from the Consortium for Service Innovation?  If so, I'd love to hear about your experience with the course and how you've tied these practices into Guru. Similarly, if anyone has used other KCS courses/resources that have informed your use of Guru, I’m all ears!

Recommendations for consolidating cards and card ownership for processes that are cross team?

Hi! Do any of you have advice/experience consolidating card ownership for cross-team processes? We’ve democratized card creation by letting teams create what they need. That has served us very well, but now we are running up against multiple cards on the same process written by different authors from the perspective of their teams. This can cause a little bit of confusion and waters down the single source of truth approach we hoped to have. Should one person do all the verification for each? Use better tags? Have a trunk card with branch cards linked to it?Any advice greatly appreciated - thanks folks!Ash

Moving a card but keeping its analytics?

I am trying to move some cards to a new collection. However, whether I export/import them or use Card Manager, it appears that their view data is reset. Am I missing a step or option somewhere? I am trying to work around issue where the analytics tab doesn’t filter for board or tag. (And card manager view count is always a total, not a affected by the date selected.) The export file from Guru has all the analytics data in it.

Tips for updating the organization of an existing collection

Hey Guru Community! We are currently working on completely reorganizing one of our collections (has ~1800 cards). We want to make it as easy of a transition and rollout as possible, so I was thinking about creating a new collection, adding in all the future board groups, boards, and sections so that all we would need to do is move the cards over. Would it be better to do that vs just updating the existing collection? Any insight as to what we may loose in creating a whole new collection?

How do I provide a url to an anchored section?

I saw this article already.  But I can’t seem to get the anchor link to work in a url.  For example, if I wanted to give my colleague a url to a specific anchor, the url loads up fine, but it doesn’t anchor.Here is a more explicit example: If I put an anchor called “aboutDogs” in my guru card, when I click on the url (for example https://app.getguru.com/card/12345/animal#aboutDogs) - the url loads up fine -  but the browser doesn’t skip to the About Dogs section.How can I provide a url to an anchored section?

Workramp and Guru integration: Keeping one source of truth

Now that Guru is our source of truth, I am hoping to reduce the number of places SMEs need to update content when things change. We use Workramp as an LMS, which allows Guru cards to be embedded.  I’m finding that the Guru card isn’t formatted in the most useful way in Workramp, though. It looks clunky in that context, and makes the Workramp flow seem a bit disjointed. Wishful thinking, but is there a way to sync only SOME of the card content from a card into Workramp? Is that anything that would ever be on the horizon?

Suggestion on how to gain visibility on tools/content that redirect to Guru Cards

Within our CX organization we have multiple teams that use tools that point our agents to Guru Cards for additional details (e.g. Salesforce flows, Training modules, etc.)Unfortunately, our Knowledge Management team doesn’t have visibility on all tools that reference our Cards so we can easily disrupt a flow/training if we make significant changes (or archive) to a Card.Our manual solution that we adopted about a year ago was to use tags so we at least know that another tool has a dependency on a specific Card. That said, it’s not super thorough and it requires us to email/Slack a team if a large change is made. Guru’s linked Card feature is a perfect example of the visibility we need for other tools/software that our teams use. This will give us a better idea of what Card edits/updates will have downstream to any linked Trainings, Salesforce Flows, etc. I’m curious how other teams keep track of changes to Guru content that impact other tools at their company?Does anyone know what type

Best Video tool to embed in a card?

We’re planning on incorporating videos into many of our cards as we develop our content. We have been using Loom so far, but does anyone use something they like better? We’re lukewarm on Loom, it does the trick but we don’t like how the preview appears on the card before it’s played. What are others using to record videos for content in their cards? Do you have something that you especially like with it’s integration in Guru?

Why are some cards showing revisions made after verification, but no changes were made to the content?

Hello! So my team is dealing with an interesting conundrum. There was a Guru card that was recently verified, but it showed up as a revision in the revision history. However, comparing revisions doesn’t show any changes to the content at all.We’ve only noticed this once so far, but it’s something we want to get to the bottom of because we have a Zapier automation that gathers all Guru cards that have been edited, and this one card that was simply verified made it on this list, even though no edits were made.Does anyone have any insight on what might be happening here?

Difficulty moving cards between boards and sections in new navigation

Is anyone else experiencing difficulty when moving cards into different boards/sections with the new navigational layout?  This used to be so easy before the change and now I have to move it and drop it in a spot a few times before the card ‘sticks’ to the new spot.

How to move Synced collections

Hi there,  I have a collection that is synced to Zendesk, I want to move it to another collection in another folder, when I click the 3 dots to ‘move collection’ I don’t get the option to do so. Is there a reason I can’t move the collection?  Thanks,

Is it possible to embed a Confluence page on a card?

Some other teams have pages with useful information that we’d like access to in Guru but we don’t want or need to sync the entire space. Is there a way to embed a Confluence page the way that a Google Doc/Sheet can be so that any updates are shown, rather than doing a static copy/paste?

The ‘Favorite Board’ function does not seem to work right

The ‘Favorite Board’ function does not seem to work right. After I favorite boards, they are properly displayed in ‘Heart Favorites’ section. When I click on one, the Collection shows up. When i click on another favorite, the screen defaults back to the Collection i had on the screen (even though the favorite board is in another collection). I assume this is because the subscription we have, but the application behavior is not good.  (We are testing Guru against Notion, and this ‘Favorite’ behavior is creating a negative impression)

Allow Card to keep Verification Date when changing Verification Team

We’ve updated internal processes and want to re-assign 1,000+ Cards to a single verification team. Unfortunately, we discovered during testing, that re-assigning Cards individually (or with Card Manager) will reset the “Verified Date” to today’s date. We are trying to avoid having a large number of Cards come up for verification down the road and would like to see if we can keep the existing verification dates when re-assigning Cards to a new verification team. Any solutions/workarounds so we don’t have to individually adjust each Card to a specific Verification Date after transferring them to the new team?

Markdown blocks for TOC visible in mobile app?

I am using markdown to create a table of contents on a card. When I view the card on the mobile app (iOS), these blocks appear with nothing in them: This does not seem ideal! Any suggestions?

Why is that everytime I copy a content from a card with Browser Plugin, the image does not show up?

When I copy a card, and paste into another program, say outlook email, only text is showing up without images, can I ask if this is expected?

Dashboard shows very old announcement that doesn't show in my read or unread

We’re not able to clear this. It’s not showing in read or unread. It’s been here ever since the UI change. This happens for me and my colleagues, not just one person.
