Unable to Add Guru app in Slack
I was able to add the Guru Slack app last week and it disappeared this week. (This may have been due to some security changes for my work’s Slack)I am running into the same issue I had when I first tried adding it. When I click Add Guru Wiki, it brings me to the Guru page and when I click Enable Guru + Slack it brings me to the Slack page and it is an endless loop.
Is there any way to limit Card Template visibility?
Hey all!So this is going to be a super random question, but is there any way to edit the actual visibility of the templates? It’s a difficult thing to try to explain, but we have 14 or 15 different templates, one for each of the products that we have support, and they’re all getting used. Our Support Engineers themselves however, only work on a (at most) 2 products, and they can only write into the collections that they work on through the Groups and Permissions that have been set for them, but even if the templates aren’t relevant to that one individual, they still see them.So I guess the TLDR question is, is it possible to tie templates to specific Groups / Permissions, so we can ensure that the templates that are displayed are tailored to that users characteristics.
What's a good default visibility for Guru in my org?
Hey all,I’m implementing Guru for the very first time and it’s so cool but also so 🧠🔨!I’ve set up collections for every department, with an access “group” for department leads, and another group for team members with read only access. For the rest of the org, I’ve not allowed all members read only access in any collections. Therefore, every department will only have access to their team’s collection.I do this so that team leads can pick and choose which boards/sections/cards will be visible out to the org.Is this a good empty state, do you think? Why or why not?
Best practices for experts to review questions and cards needing verification?
We are launching Guru next week and curious about best practices for experts to check questions and cards that need verification? I was going to set the expectations that experts should be checking on Mondays and Wednesday. That might even be overkill but at least there will only be a few day delay at most.
🎓Guru Academy: Are you using Guru for Product Enablement yet? We've got new training for you!
I’m thrilled to announce that we have a new Product Enablement on-demand training series in Guru Academy that walks you through the product creation/delivery process, start to finish! The training is full of great examples from the Template Gallery, as well as how to use advanced features like Knowledge Triggers and Knowledge Alerts. Regardless of your product or service, this training provides the foundational knowledge needed to increase collaboration across teams at your org, starting with Product, Design, Engineering all the way through Marketing and Support. Back in February @Callie Rojewski asked how folks were using Guru to support product enablement at their companies. How does your organization handle collaboration for your product or feature? Any tips or tricks to share? If you’re unsure, then ask a question to get the convo started!
How can I exclude who receives a Knowledge Alert?
Hello. I was wondering if there is a way to change a specific member of a collection status to something else without having to do it for the other members of the collection. For example, our CEO is a member of the CX collection but when I send knowledge alerts, I don't want them to receive those alerts. I know in order to receive those alerts you have to be an "Author" of that collection, so I want to change their status to something different without having to remove them from the collection. Thank you :slightlysmilingface:

Stakeholder Register worksheet template
Hi everyone,I got my PMP certification in June, and now that I have access to the Project Management Institute’s library of templates, I thought I would modify some of them to help the Guru community run their knowledge projects better.A common problem I hear during a Guru implementation, expansion, or audit is that someone unexpected has come forward upset that they weren’t consulted or feels like their needs weren’t heard in the planning phases of the project. With that in mind, I’ve created this worksheet you can use to take a register of all stakeholders, which will help you determine how best to work with them. The worksheet asks you to look at how many Guru cards the person verifies and their activities, but if you are new to Guru, you can consider another method of measuring their interaction with knowledge and record that here.My questions to you, to start a discussion here:Could this be useful for you? What do you normally do to make sure you’re getting the right people in the
Has your team built really cool FAQs in Guru?
Who built really cool FAQs in Guru? I know there was a discussion sometime somewhat recently (but really, what is time anymore?) I'm looking to put together an FAQ around specific topics and I am curious if you've done this in your instance? What does your structure look like? How do you utilize the Sections and Board Groups?
Tip for how to do a Guru search in 3 seconds!! (from the address bar in Chrome)
One of my Thrasio colleagues recorded a video showing how you can use a quick Chrome browser hack to search for Guru cards in 2 seconds! It’s the fastest way I know of to search for cards other than using the Slack app.Check out the video here: https://content.api.getguru.com/files/dn/1512eb54-d6dd-4eee-98d0-7e5f333eef88
How to create a Q&A post

Product Q&A Organization
Hi everyone! 👋The Support team at Guru recently revamped our product Q&A Cards - we use lots of product q&a Cards to help you all get the most out of Guru, and they previously lived in a Board in a Collection.Since so many different teams at Guru use product Q&A’s (Support, Sales, Marketing, you name it!) we migrated the Cards into their own Product Q&A Collection, where we divided features out by Board: A sneak preview of our Product Q&A Collection structure! The result: We use a Product Q&A template to standardize the look and feel of the Cards in the Collection Our team can search for Cards using both the Collection and individual Card tag. Question: How do your teams structure product Q&A Cards in your Guru instance? Do you have any tips for organizing them?
How do you manage "public card sharing" for collections?
Great question from @Ashley W. that I wanted to pull in here (curious what others think!):Curious how other companies manage the ‘public card sharing’ option for collections. We’d like to turn it off for all collections by default OR prevent people from turning it on at all. Looks like this is only at a collection level (which I’ve already locked down)-https://help.getguru.com/en/articles/4739563-what-are-public-cards#:~:text=Navigate%20to%20the%20Users%20%26%20Collections,the%20Public%20Cards%20option%20OFF. @Deborah Sanderfur shared:We have ours set to OFF for the collection level as well.
Guru vs Confluence
Has anyone had to pitch internally Guru vs Confluence? We are looking to expand Guru use in the company but need to pitch to leadership why it's better than Confluence (no brainer...but I still need to put together a pitch). If so - any material you wrote out to help support the presentation (I already found this on the Guru's site)
How does your team use Knowledge Alerts?
👋 Hi! As a fully remote team here at Articulate, we work to balance our internal comms in order to ensure that everyone is aligned and has access to important information without overwhelm. We've found announcements helpful for flagging important information for teams. Do you use announcements for your teams? What kind of content do you pair it with? ☑️
