Thai partial search function

Hi Team, We got a team in Thailand which they will use Thai to search for cards. It’s found that the partial search function in the card detail content is not working, we are looking it to behave like the searching function as confluence or google doc.

Do you create separate cards for mobile app vs. web app workflows?

Hi folks 👋Looking to get some insight into how people generate Guru content when the same workflow can be performed through multiple platforms (i.e. mobile apps vs the website). Wondering if people generate two cards (one for each workflow) or anchor the card on the workflow and then present the two ways of doing it (i.e. on the mobile app at the top of the card and then the website workflow underneath) on the same card. In my mind it’s six of twelve and half dozen of the other but I am leaning toward the second option as it’d increase discoverability.Thanks, folks!

How do you invite new hires to Guru?

I tried going the Zapier route to automatically invite new users to Guru but am not able to filter for those that only join my team in the org. Does everyone else just manually invite, or do you use other methods? Thanks,Alice

Changing the verifier into myself automatically verifies an unverified card

Hi guys!! Whenever I change a card’s verifier into myself, the card gets verified automaticaly (even if it was unverified originally). We ran into problems because we changed the verifier for 30++ cards in Card Manager, and I reassigned some unverified cards to me so I can be the one to review. but then they got automatically verified. Since it was 30++ cards it’s hard to track which cards should be tagged as unverified. Is there a way to maintain the verification state when I assign a card to myself?

Changing Verifier

Hi All-  new to Guru.  I created a card and didn’t realize that I had to change the verifier from myself to someone else.  I created the card and published it.   How can I go back in and Change the verifier without have to re-create the card?  It doesn’t seem to give the the option to do that, but I am sure I am just missing a step somewhere. ThanksTracy

I’d like to know if it posible to have feedback of the cards we’ve created. Thumbs up and down, exactly i want. I don’t know how many people saw that or if it is popular but to se if my content was complete, good, confusing etc. So Thumbs up and down that we see en many Q&A would be perfect. Tks

How can I embed a website in a card?

Hello, we have just launched Getguru internally and started looking into cards, boards, collections etc. We have a website that’s continously updated, with all our team members, and I would like to link and embed to that page in a card, as to avoid doing double work. Advice for Guru set up

Good morning.  My name is Rob Mueller and I’m spearheading the launch of Guru for the Clean Energy Sales Team (50 seats to start) with my company, Generac. We are starting the 30 day implementation package with Guru this week.  Looking for advice or best practices to get going or community threads here that are valuable for newbies.  We have been using the free version of Guru for the past 30 days.A little but about Generac Clean Energy: This division at Generac (Wisconsin) was created in 2019 with the purchase of 2 company’s, Pika Energy (whom I work for in Portland, Maine) and Neurio (Vancouver, BC).  We have since grown with the acquisition of a few more companies with lots of employees and information in many, many silos.  Seeing a huge opportunity we were able to get approved to get Guru with 50 seats to start.  This will be a pilot with the hopes that it will be adopted by a wider audience going forward.  Thanks in advance for your time with this.  Really looking forward to getti

API dates in UTC?

Is the timestamp that I’m getting in the API endpoints in UTC?For example, in the CARDS endpoint, the field ‘dateCreated’ is giving me the timestamp in UTC or local? Can you confirm that the same applies for the rest of endpoints as well?

Can you create Board templates?

Question: I know that it's possible to create card template's, but is it possible to create board template's? i.e if I want to create several boards (in hundreds) with the same sections and same description of the board, it would be massive time saving to create those boards from a template. The exact use case is a board per customer, where information specific to each would live, i.e troubleshooting/procedures etc only relevant to that customer.

Guru, Zapier and Slack

Hello everyone! I’m hoping to automate some tasks with Zapier. Looking at some other community topics, I’ve set up some Slack bots:a zap where we get a notification in Slack if the trust score drops + the verifiers and # of unverified cards a zap when we get our score back up for some positive reinforcementI also want to set up a zap where any new hire on our team will automatically get an invite to join Guru. I was wondering if any Guru users here has experience with setting up a zap for sending invites to only new team members (currently I can send an invite to everyone in the company but I really don’t want to do that) And if anyone has other Zap ideas!

Tidying up the slack activity feed

When I use the “list feeds” command,  guru lists a bunch of General Activity feeds that I am unable to remove. It says I don’t have the permissions to delete these feeds.I think these might be for boards that used to be linked to the Slack channel but have since been deleted. Is there a way to reduce the clutter when I use this command?

Allow users to mention a group without being that group?

Hi there - Can someone only mention a group if they’re in the group? I wanted a way for someone to be able to @ the Guru Admins on Card comments but it seems they can only do that if they are also in the Guru Admin group. Am i missing a setting or option somewhere?

Knowledge alerts

Is there a log of knowledge alerts? Can a previously sent / acknowledge alert be accessed / reviewed. We are wanting to see what the text of the alert was and cannot find a historic log of alerts.

Does anyone use Guru standalone as an External Facing Help Center?

We currently use Wordpress for our user help center to publish articles and have accessible information for our users. The accordion style hierarchy topics>subtopics>articles is likely the only plus I see of it other than using Guru. The hierarchy of our Wordpress system also only goes about 3 or 4 levels so even that is pretty limited.I was wondering if anyone using Guru as a external Help center for any users outside of their org and if so how did you make it work for you. Examples or links would be very helpful as well! I would love to use Guru’s analytics and editing capabilities to move on from WordPress that does not serve our users that well since it’s pretty hard to maneuver or analyze.I am trying to not lean too heavy into integrating into another app since I want the analytics of Guru and our engineering teams bandwidth are pretty short which is why we have put off this issue for so long.

Generate a knowledge alert via API call

Is there a way to create a knowledge alert via API request? We have automated creating Guru cards of our release notes as part of our CI/CD pipeline, and it would be great if after the card is created we could automatically issue a knowledge alert from our external script vs. doing it manually.

Guru Admin/Key Stakeholder leaving company...now what?

If an admin is leaving the Company, how can we transition their role/tasks? What is the offboarding process like? What automatically happens in Guru if employee email address rendered inactive? What can we do manually to ensure a smooth transition?

Cannot Select a Group as a Card Verifier

When I am trying to select a verifier for my card all I can choose is from the list of individual users and the “All Members” group, but I cannot see any other Group.  Have I missed something when I was setting up the group or collection?

Is there a way to change the font in Guru?

It’s very frustrating to have lowercase “i” show up as very similar to uppercase “i” and lowercase “L”.  Is there a way to change the default font in Guru?  See screenshot for an example.
